Questions about private selections

Direct answers about the merchant workflow, the shopper experience and the boundaries of Intsell.

Frequently asked questions

What is a private selection?

It is an expiring, store-branded page containing the exact Shopify variants and quantities chosen during a store visit. Its link is unguessable and scoped to that selection.

Does the shopper need an account?

No. A shopper can open the private link without an Intsell account or a Shopify customer account. Intsell does not require contact details to view the selection.

How are products added?

An adviser can search the installed store's Shopify catalogue, enter a barcode, use a supported camera scanner, or use a Bluetooth scanner that enters the same barcode field.

Does Intsell create an order or replace checkout?

No. Intsell prepares one complete cart on the merchant's Shopify storefront. The shopper remains in control and continues through the merchant's normal Shopify cart and checkout.

What happens if price or stock changes?

Before opening the cart, Intsell rechecks price, currency, availability and quantity against Shopify. If any item is stale or unavailable, it blocks the entire handoff instead of opening a partial cart.

Does Intsell collect Shopify customer data?

The app does not request Shopify customer scopes. Optional labels or notes entered by the store remain subject to the store's instructions, Intsell's data processing terms and the published retention policy.

Where can I review privacy and retention details?

The Privacy Notice, Data Processing Addendum, Subprocessor List and Retention and Store Deletion Policy are available from the legal links below.
